From: The Yemeni American Anti-Terrorism Center
To: United Nations (Office of the Secretary-General)
Subject: Seventh of July 1994, the day of victory for the forces of extremisms and terrorism against the forces of good and modernity in Yemen
Dear Mr. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations
You have all our respect and appreciation for your contribution at the international level through your esteemed organization to serve humanity and its great civilization over the ages.
Dear Sir, it has become necessary to send you this letter from the above mentioned center and concerning the above mentioned matter for the following reasons:
First: The necessity for the war on terrorism to continue under the leadership of the United States of America and its allies to support the healthy growth of humanity and its great civilization, away from the disease of terrorism (and war has many different aspects).
Second: The necessity for political reform and the spread of freedom, democracy, justice and peace, to rid the people from the evil of corruption, injustice and oppression that continues to plague people all over, but specifically in Yemen because of the corrupt and oppressive regime which is still present until now.
Third: The necessity to help the oppressed Yemeni people to liberate themselves from the corrupt and oppressive dictatorship there, which will result in eliminating poverty, injustice and oppression, and which will also eliminate the roots of terrorism since the two are connected.
Forth: The necessity of working diligently to bring down the current dictatorship in Yemen, politically and through popular demand in the upcoming presidential elections this September. Having a free, fair democratic and transparent elections under the direct supervision of the United Nations will support peace and stability in the world.
The Yemeni American Anti-Terrorism Center was announced on December 26, 2004 in the state of Michigan. Since then, the center has continued its diligent work to bring truth to the world. The real truth that does like to walk naked, so that the world may see the suffering of the Yemeni people, caused by unprecedented poverty, injustice, oppression, financial and administrative corruption and wars. All of this has planted the seeds of hatred towards others in society, which contributes heavily to the spread of terrorism in the Yemeni society and exporting it abroad as has been the case in more than one incident. This makes the world less secure, including our country America, may God protect it from all evil.
We have expressed our position and our point of view concerning the events in Yemen by our letters and statements which we have distributed to all parties that we were able to reach, and also through the media. We have found clear understanding reflected by clear action by some countries and organizations concerned in the Yemeni question and the corrupt and oppressive regime in Yemen, particularly our country America. But more pressure by the United Nations against the regime in Yemen will have great impact in reducing and stopping terrorist activities and the eradication of terrorism.
The center in its struggle to support the international war on terrorism places in your hand the facts and realities suffered by the oppressed Yemeni people by the corrupt and terrorist authority in Yemen, hoping that you would take it into consideration and work towards rescuing the Yemeni people from the nightmare of terrorism and corruption, which will contribute to the peace and stability in the world and we trust that the international organization will have the greatest of understanding for this issue. And as we present your Excellency with this letter, we ask that it not be understood as a command but rather a frank discussion aimed to do good in order to eliminate the ideology of hate in the Middle East, a philosophy embodied by the Al-Qaida.
Facts and Realities:
The suffering of the Yemeni people started in this modern age approximately twenty eight years ago in 1977, when the forces of evil, terrorism, and corruption conspired against the Yemeni people and whereby the late president Ibrahim Al-Hamdi was assassinated. All the centers of power were liquidated in order to clear the way for the current president of Yemen; Field Marshal Ali Abdallah Saleh. Saleh and his corrupt regime were the benefactors from the killing and group liquidation of all the opposition forces. This was stated by president Ali Abdallh Saleh himself when he admitted recently to the killing of three hundred members of Al-Nasiri party, shortly after he ceased power. The Yemeni people considered them missing, and until now, no one knows what happened to their bodies. He then dragged the Yemeni people into a fierce war known as the Yemeni-Yemeni Boarders
War or the War of the Mid Regions which cost the Yemeni people - as in other wars - thousands of casualties; the wounded, the handicapped, the widows, the bereaved mothers, and the orphans, in addition to the damage done to the national economy, etc.
Yemen continued to suffer from civil and tribal wars here and there until the year 1994 and specifically on July 7th when the Field Marshal Ali Abdallah Saleh declared war against South of Yemen after he finished forging alliances with the forces of terrorism that had just returned from Afghanistan under the leadership of Abdul-Majeed Al-Zandani and also the forces of the Baathies with allegiances to Saddam, who have strong influence in Yemen. He dragged the country into a war that burned everything. It was not a war in defense of the Yemeni soil or the Yemeni people, but rather to protect his rule and his greed in the vast resources of the south, whereby the regime had burdened the Yemeni people in the north until that date by stealing and pillaging their resources.
The cause of South Yemenis – and as the case in the North – is a just cause that requires working with people of the South to help reclaim their legitimate rights under the auspices of the United Nations and the Security Council.
The tragedy of the Yemeni people did not end at that point, but continued on in order to fulfill the wishes of the monster of Yemen who did not and will not get enough no matter how many lives he eliminates and how much money he gathers, and the suffering of the Yemeni people continues because of the destructive military apparatus owned by the terrorists and corrupt individuals in Yemen.
The suffering of the Yemeni people also continued because of the war in Sa’da which continues on until today and will not be the last according to the agenda of the Field Marshal’s regime, taking more lives and causing more suffering, injustice and oppression for the people of Yemen wherever they might be in the South, North, East and West. All of this has caused more than fifteen million people to live under poverty and a destroyed country in all aspects, and to the point where the children and women of Yemen are sold in slave markets in the neighboring countries according to international reports and Yemeni experts. We cannot list all the crimes of the regime that have been committed and continues to happen on daily basis in one letter while the world watches, but we will continue to bring the cries of the oppressed in Yemen pleading for help, and we have great confidence that the world still represents the good will and will not stand by idle when confronted with the suffering of the Yemeni people. We have great confidence that the world will act against the tyranny that’s robbing the Yemeni people of their wealth and resources, and because terrorism and dictatorship are two faces of the same coin, they live together and die together.
The Center as we mentioned has declared its position and made clear its point of view concerning this and other issues. We possess evidence showing the depth of involvement of the Field Marshal Ali Abdallah Saleh in corruption and terrorism. We charge that regime with corruption, and just as we’ve requested from those concerned, we request from you the following:
Work towards convening the International Security Council to review the situation in Yemen and issue an international resolution to freeze the properties and movable and immovable assets of the current regime, found in the bank accounts of the leaders of the corrupt and terrorist regime, and return it through your organization to the Yemeni people in the appropriate manner, within the framework of eradicating terrorism. This money as we know, is used to support terrorist organizations in Yemen and the Middle East and particularly Al-Qaida.
Issuing an international resolution that would re-open the case for bombing of USS Cole, which was bombed in the port of Aden in the year 2000, and send an international investigative body to conduct a true, comprehensive, and transparent investigation and determine those responsible for that incident.
Issue an international resolution to re-open the case of the killing of the three American doctors in Jibla; William Koehn, Kathleen Gariety and Martha Myers. The three doctors were shot and killed by Abed Abdal-Razzak Kamel whose involvement in a terrorist cell was verified. That cell called for the death of seculars and missionaries according to their statements. What’s known about this cell is its connection to Political Security. The killing had occurred one day after the killing of the well-known opposition leader Jar-Allah Omar by the murderer Jar-Allah Al-Sa’wani; the other member in the cell. Both of them were students at Al-Iman University which is headed by Abdul-Majeed Al-Zandani. The terrorist killers were then executed in order to hide and burry the truth and to count the whole matter strictly as a homicide case related only to those involved, which is far from the truth. If the world is able to conduct a serious and transparent investigation, it will reveal the many threads that will reveal the real terrorist networks. The networks that have found a safe haven in Yemen and a place for the growth of terrorism and recruitment of terrorists and exporting them to the world.
Issuing an international resolution forcing the Yemeni regime to stop human trafficking. International reports is proving day after day that there are networks of the corrupt leaders of the regime in Yemen that are active in smuggling and selling women and children in the neighboring countries. We request that an International Court be established to bring those officials responsible for these crimes to justice. Yemen does not have an independent judiciary and the Field Marshal Ali Abdallah Saleh is the actual chief justice in the country.
Issuing an international resolution to bring the icons of the regime in Yemen to stand trial before a war crimes tribunal for what they have committed against the Yemeni people and humanity, including mass and deliberate killing without any legal justification and at all the levels, and for the robbing and pillaging of the Yemeni people.
An international investigation concerning the escape of the twenty three terrorists described as dangerous from the most fortified prisons in Sanaa recently, which clearly reveals the involvement of the State apparatus and specially the Political Security in supporting terrorism and terrorists.
Issuing an international resolution forcing the current regime in Yemen to shut down Al-Iman University which is the university headed by Abdul-Majeed Al-Zandani whose name is on the black list in our country. That university has graduated many terrorists such as John Walker who was arrested in Afghanistan and others such Abed Abdal-Razzaq Kamel the murder of the three doctors in Jibla, and Jar-Alla Al-Sa’wani the killer of Jar-Allah Omar whose well-known for his opposition to the regime of terrorism and corruption in Yemen. It is also the university that teaches its students Individual Jihad. We consider it to be a university that produces Wahabi-style terrorists.
Applying all means of pressure to force the terrorist and corrupt regime in Yemen to accept a free, fair and transparent election with direct supervision by the United Nations and the forces of good and freedom in the world.
Lastly, please accept our respect and admiration to your efforts in instilling justice, freedom, democracy and peace in the world. The Center will continue its diligent work with all parties to establish and affirm freedom, justice, and democracy for the people and to expose the sources of terrorism and eradicate it wherever it might be.
